This site is a window into An Open Secret, a personal and collective journey built through photography, storytelling, and healing.

It exists to honour the voices of survivors, and to invite new spaces, people, and institutions to be part of this ongoing conversation.

How it began

An Open Secret was born from my own experience as a survivor.
For years, I carried a truth I couldn’t name out loud.
This project became my way of processing, of reclaiming my voice, and eventually, of creating a space for others to do the same.

Through photography, text, and shared reflection, I explore the many faces of trauma: the silence, the fear, the guilt, but also the strength, sisterhood, and resilience that follow.
What began as a personal journey slowly evolved into a collective act of healing.

An Open Secret is not just my story — it’s a story that belongs to many.
It’s about learning that healing doesn’t mean forgetting, but daring to be seen as you are.

This project continues to grow through exhibitions, collaborations, and community workshops.
It’s an invitation — to listen, to speak, and to heal, together.

THE JOURNEY - From a book to a collective act

What began as a personal exploration slowly became a shared process. Through photography, An Open Secret grew into a space where silence could turn into connection. Each session was built on trust,  an exchange between women who dared to be seen and to see one another. There was no posing, no direction. Just presence.Moments of vulnerability, care, and quiet strength. These encounters transformed the work. They reminded me that art can hold emotion, that it can become a form of healing. Every image is a trace of that: a shared breath, an unspoken story, a truth reclaimed.

WHY IT CONTINUES

An Open Secret keeps evolving beyond the lens. It now lives through exhibitions, conversations, and creative sessions that invite others to reconnect with themselves. Each collaboration adds new meaning,  new stories, new voices, and new ways of understanding what healing can look like. Because this project was never just mine. It belongs to every woman who has shared a piece of herself, and to those still finding the courage to do so.
